Aldan and I took off around 9 am this morning from Springfield and got into Chicago right in time for lunch. Aldan wanted to experience the authentic Chicago deep dish pizza so we went to Lou Malnati's Pizzeria off Randolph St. and indulged in the The Malnati Chicago Classic with sausage and extra cheese, seen in the photo. After spending more on parking then on our lunch we decided to do the driving tour of Chicago. We drove by the Willis Tower and Trump Tower and passed by the Chicago Theatre. We decided that we wanted to go down to Shedd Aquarium and see the Baluga whales and afterword I could Drone some of the skyline. We had a great time at the Aquarium and did a live feed for family at home. After the Aquarium I set up the drone to do some shots but it wouldn't let me take off from the parking lot. Turns out DJI is grounding all Drones if you are within a no fly zone and seeing how Soldier Field was only a 1/4 of a mile away it wasn't letting me take off. We had read earlier that Chicago Police were known to put heat on Drone users and fine them and in some instances arrest them. I was very nervous about flying the Drone and Aidan was concerned with what would happen if I did get arrested. Against my better judgement I decided to fly for a few moments and boy was I glad I did. I caught some Skyline picture from behind the Shedd Aquarium. It was extremely windy and the gimbal was working overtime to try and stead the camera. Check out the photos in the blog to see all the pictures from today's journey. We are currently in Columbia City, IN. and will be shooting Cheddar's restaurant in Ft Wayne, IN and a gentleman's 2 acre property in Lakeside, MI. tomorrow.
